How it works

1. Bring your books to the counter — up to 20 per visit, any day we're open.
2. We appraise on the spot. A bookseller checks condition and demand; appraisal usually takes just a few minutes.
3. Get store credit instantly. Credit goes straight onto your customer account and applies automatically at checkout, online or in store. It never expires.

What you'll get

• Standard titles: store credit worth 25% of our planned resale price.
• High-demand titles (recent bestsellers, staff wishlist books): up to 40%.
• Stacks Rewards members earn 10 bonus points per accepted trade-in visit.

What we accept

Clean, complete, gently read books: current fiction and nonfiction, classics, kids' books, quality paperbacks and hardcovers.

What we can't take

Water damage, missing pages, heavy highlighting, ex-library copies, outdated textbooks or reference sets, and anything that smells like a basement. We'll happily point you to local donation options for books we pass on.

Appraisals are at the bookseller's discretion and depend on current stock. Trade-in credit is issued as store credit only.
